    KINGSTON – The borough will conduct a mixed paper drop off on Friday, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to noon. Trucks will be available for residents to drop off mixed paper at the municipal warehouse, Church Street and Third Avenue.

    PLYMOUTH TWP. – Moon Lake Park will be closed from Jan. 1 to March 31 but will be open Saturdays and Sundays during this period for walking, cycling and fishing.

    SCRANTON – The Lackawanna County Commission on Drug and Alcohol Abuse, in cooperation with the Joseph J. Lupini Family, local taxi companies and the Lackawanna County Tavern Association will offer the Lackawanna County Safe Ride Program through Thursday. The program is an effort to reduce deaths and injuries from drunken driving during the holidays by keeping impaired drivers off the road. Last year, 12,998 people were killed on the nation’s roads in alcohol-related crashes, with the maximum number of deaths occurring between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
